Colmone Classic back in action

Bureau Valley to clash with Rock Falls

SPRING VALLEY - The 2021 Colmone Classic returns to action tonight with three games on the Hall hardwood.

In the first game, Stillman Valley (1-0) and St. Bede (0-1) meet at 5 p.m. with the Cardinals looking to wrap up the Gray Pool title.

The Black Pool title will be on the line in the second game when Bureau Valley (1-0) and Rock Falls (1-0) clash at 6:30 p.m. The winner moves on to Friday’s semifinals.

Fieldcrest (0-1) and Mendota (0-1) will meet In the nightcap at 8 p.m., both looking for their first win of the tournament. Longtime Knights coach Matt Winkler, who has won 12 Colmone Classic crowns, is coaching in his last appearance at Hall as he is retiring at the end of the year.

RED POOL: Pontiac 2-0, Marquette 1-1, Hall 0-2

WHITE POOL: L-P 2-0, Mendota 0-1, Fieldcrest 0-1

BLACK POOL: Rock Falls 1-0, Bureau Valley 1-0, Putnam County 0-2

GRAY POOL: Stillman Valley 1-0, Princeton 1-1, St. Bede 0-1
