Amboy co-op’s Brock Loftus placed fifth (15:43) in the Peoria Heights Invitational on Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
Loftus, a senior from Ohio, led the Clippers to an eighth-place finish among the 39 teams. Bureau Valley finished 26th and Princeton was 33rd.
Amboy’s Kyler McNinch was 25th (16:43) and Ian Eller 26th (16:46) and Bureau Valley’s Elijah House turned in a personal best 16:55 to placed 33rd. Christian Yepson led Princeton with a time of 18:34, placing 120th.
In the girls race, Amboy’s Lauren Althaus finished an area-best 38th in 20:29, while Princeton’s Lexi Bohms was 56th in 20:51. Amalie Graversgaard was the top finisher for Bureau Valley, placing 90th with a personal-best 21:58.4.
Princeton placed 20th among the 28 teams, while Bureau Valley was 27th.

At Mendota: Bureau Valley lost all four matches in Saturday’s Mendota Invite, falling to Peoria Christian (25-16, 27-25), Rockford Christian (25-15, 25-21), Forreston (25-20, 25-18) and Putnam County (25-18, 27-25).

At Plano: St. Bede went 2-2-1 at Saturday’s Plano Invitational, defeating Plano (25-20, 25-6) and Lisle (25-11, 25-21) and losing to Sandwich (26-24, 18-25, 15-12) and Yorkville Christian (25-23, 25-17) while tying Westmont (25-15, 19-25).
Ali Bosnich, who had 25 kills, 10 blocks and two digs for St. Bede, was selected to the All Tournament Team. Other leading contributors for St. Bede (10-18-1) were Lia Bosnich (20 kills, 9 blocks 6 digs), Emily Robbins (16 kills, 2 blocks, 50 digs, 2 aces, 16 points) and Grace Maschmann (78 assists, 12 kills, 20 digs, 2 aces, 15 points, 4 blocks).
