Statuses of Fields, Hicks, Robinson all in doubt as Bears turn attention to Lions

Robinson, Hicks sat out Sunday’s game against Baltimore

Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson (12) lines up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the first half Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, in Tampa, Fla.

LAKE FOREST – While the health of the starting quarterback remains the biggest injury concern for the Bears, it’s far from their only injury concern right now.

The team faces a quick turnaround with a Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, only four days after Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bears did not dress for a full practice Monday, instead opting for a walk-through to give the players time to heal up. The team, however, was required to release an injury report based on the best estimates of how the players were feeling Monday.

Had the Bears practiced, quarterback Justin Fields (ribs), receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring), defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (ankle), defensive back Duke Shelley (hamstring) and running back Damien Williams (calf) all would’ve sat out.

Safety Eddie Jackson (hamstring) and receiver Darnell Mooney (foot) would’ve been limited. Defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. (ribs), safety Tashaun Gipson (chest) and receiver Marquise Goodwin (shoulder) are nursing injuries but would’ve been full participants.

Fields’ status ahead of Thursday’s game is in doubt after the rookie suffered a rib injury in the third quarter Sunday. Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton finished out the game, throwing for 201 yards and two touchdown passes.

Bears coach Matt Nagy said Monday that he had no update on Fields’ status.

Hicks and Robinson both sat out Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Both players last played during the Bears’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 8.
