Pet-Friendly, 1-Bedroom Rentals in Chicago From $1,500-$3,000 per Month

Looking for a 1-bedroom rental that welcomes pets? Fortunately, Chicago neighborhoods along the southwest end of Lake Michigan offer plenty of vacancies. Pet-friendly units vary in price, and the rental complexes offer a range of amenities.

Consider these seven Chicago rental communities that accept — or even cater to — pets. As an added benefit, they all include fitness centers and dry-clean services for residents.

McClurg Court: 333 E Ontario St, Chicago, IL 60611

In the Streeterville neighborhood, less than two blocks from the waterfront, is the McClurg Court apartment complex. The building has the most 1-bedroom units available out of all seven complexes listed, and monthly rents range from $1,575-$1,951. Beyond welcoming both dogs and cats, McClurg Court residents share on-site laundry, and extra storage is available. The complex also includes a sun deck, clubhouse, party room, pool and tennis courts.

Presidential Towers: 555 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60661

Southwest of Streeterville, in the West Loop neighborhood, is the pet-friendly rental complex of Presidential Towers. Currently, about 14 1-bedroom units are available at monthly rates of $1,605-$1,846. Some rentals include an in-unit washer and dryer while others share on-site laundry. Like McClurg Court, additional storage is available. Amenities here include a clubhouse, sun deck, picnic area and kid’s playground, along with easy access to Zipcar service and on-site restaurants.

Hawthorne House: 3450 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60657

Another waterfront location is Hawthorne House, situated in the northern neighborhood of Lakeview East. The rental complex has about five available 1-bedroom units, offered at a monthly rate of $1,706. This is not an ideal location for dog owners because pets are limited to cats only. Hawthorne House residents share on-site laundry and have access to additional storage if desired. Added amenities include a clubhouse, a rooftop pool with sun deck and a picnic area.

Amli 900: 900 S Clark St, Chicago, IL 60605

In the South Loop neighborhood, next to the Hilton, is Chicago’s Amli 900 rental building. About 10 1-bedroom units are available at a monthly rate of $1,805-$2,167. Pets are allowed at Amli 900, and the building even features a designated pet area and dog run so furry friends can get a little fresh air. Speaking of which, Amli 900 is a completely smoke-free community inside and out. The units have their own washer and dryer, and additional storage is available. Standout amenities include a party room and a rooftop lounge with a theater, sun deck and fireplace. There’s also an electric car charging station and a Divvy bike-share station.

Cobbler Square Loft Apartments: 1350 N Wells St, Chicago, IL 60610

In the neighborhood of Old Town, between Hawthorne House and Presidential Towers, is an apartment complex called Cobbler Square Loft Apartments. Roughly 14 units remain vacant at a pricier monthly rate of $2,160-$2,395. Residents share on-site laundry, along with a party room, hot tub, spa and sun deck for sunbathing. Additionally, the complex includes a lounge with a billiards table and shuffleboard. To help avoid owning a car in the city, the complex offers car-sharing services such as Zipcar and I-GO.

The Lofts at Roosevelt Collection: 1135 S Delano Ct, Chicago, IL 60605

The southernmost complex recommended is The Lofts at Roosevelt Collection in the South Loop neighborhood. Although it’s one of the most expensive options at a monthly rate of $2,448, very few units are available. The Lofts at Roosevelt Collection welcome cats and small dogs. Residents enjoy in-unit laundry, a billiard lounge in the common area, an outdoor plaza with green space, a play structure and a rooftop terrace with grills and picnic tables.

The Hudson: 750 N Hudson Ave, Chicago, IL 60654

The River North neighborhood is home to The Hudson. Approximately 15 1-bedroom units remain vacant at varied monthly rents of $2,475-$3,295. Pets are welcome, and an allocated pet area makes it easy for them to get their much-needed exercise — and a bath afterward at the washing station. Like many of the other complexes, The Hudson offers in-unit laundry and additional storage. Beyond the pet perks, residents and guests can visit the party room with shuffleboard or enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and fire pits.
