Mr. and Mrs. William (Carlene) Hebel; 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” (Carlene) Hebel of Kewanee, formerly of Peru, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows during Mass at Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in La Salle with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. They also recently enjoyed a trip to Niagara Falls. They were honored after Mass at a dinner at the Maples for family and friends hosted by their daughters.

Bill Hebel and the former Carlene Galassi were married Oct. 26, 1957, in Queen of the Holy Rosary Church. Monsignor S.D. Bernardi officiated.

The couple are the parents of three children, Patricia (Maurice Allen) Corwin of Sheffield, Peggy (Julius) Maes of Neponset and the late William Hebel Jr.

They have three grandchildren, Caitlyn Marie (Adam) DeMay, Kari Jo (Tyler) Kipp and Cassi Lynn (Derek) Pistole. They also have three great-grandchildren, Cali Jo Pistole, Cambri Lynn Pistole and Rilynn Marie DeMay.

The couple are members of St. John Paul Parish in Kewanee.
