Two drivers were injured in a car crash at Route 52 and County Line Road near the Shorewood area.
Preliminary reports indicated the two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday and all lanes were shut down until close to 1 p.m., according to the Illinois State Police.
Both drivers were taken to a hospital following the crash on Route 52 and County Line Road, which is in the area of Shorewood and Minooka and sits between Troy and Seward townships.
Shorewood Police Chief Aaron Klima said Illinois State Police handled the crash.
On May 7, Nicholas Maddox, 32, of Elgin, suffered minor injuries from a crash at the intersection.
Last year, Paige Quinn, 27, of Minooka, was killed and two Joliet teenagers injured in a crash at the same intersection.
The fatal crash led to a Change.org petition from AJ Thomas requesting the installation of a traffic control light at the intersection.
"I have witnessed too many accidents at this intersection because there are no traffic control lights. Endless amounts of people are getting hurt or killed because there needs to be a red light at this intersection," Thomas said in the petition.
