2nd man arrested over Crest Hill shooting that wounded 2

A second man was arrested in connection with an Oct. 14 shooting in Crest Hill that left two wounded.

About 11:05 a.m. Thursday, Jeremiah Grubbs, 20, of Joliet, was taken to the Will County jail on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Grubbs was charged in connection with a shooting in the 1800 block of Arbor Lane that wounded a 24-year-old and a 17-year-old, according to Crest Hill police. The two victims were hospitalized for injuries that were not life threatening.

On Thursday, Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark said Grubbs was involved in the altercation on Arbor Lane and he was identified as one of the shooters.

Dohndray Woods, 22, of Joliet, was also arrested in connection with the incident.

Woods has been in the jail since Oct. 20 on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, being an armed habitual criminal, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Grubbs and Anthony Casterberry, 23, still face pending criminal charges over a fatal car crash on May 26, 2019 that led to the death of Suos Khloth, 60.

Woods is the brother of Donald Woods, 24, who was shot and killed on May 15, 2018, in Joliet.

Martell Ollie, 26, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident but later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Will County Assistant State's Attorney Tom Slayzk said evidence would show that Ollie shot Woods under the unreasonable belief that Woods posed a threat to him because he was armed with handgun.
