A car caught fire after two vehicles crashed in a head-on collision outside Walmart in Woodstock Tuesday evening.
A driver was turning left into the Walmart parking lot at 1275 Lake Ave. and failed to yield, crashing into a car traveling westbound on Lake Avenue towards Route 47, Woodstock police Sgt. Joshua Rapacz said.
It was at this point that one of the vehicles caught fire, he said.
Woodstock police and the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District were dispatched to the scene at about 4:50 p.m. The fire rescue department hosed down both cars and quickly put out the flames, Rapacz said.
The driver of the vehicle turning left was issued a citation for failure to yield and both vehicles had to be towed, he said.
No injuries were reported.
