Petitions for 2 IVCC board seats accepted starting Dec. 14

Two seats to go on April 6 ballot

Terms are ending for two members of the Illinois Valley Community College board of trustees, and the seats will be on the ballot for the April 6 election.

The one-week period for interested candidates to file nomination petitions for the seats will open Dec. 14 and run through Dec. 21. Petitions will be accepted 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 21, in the president’s office, room C301. The president’s office will be open Dec. 21 despite all other college offices are closed.

The open seats in the April 6 election currently are held by Everett Solon of Streator and Maureen Rebholz of Peru.

The last day to file an objection to any nominating petition for the District 513 consolidated board election for La Salle, Bureau, Putnam, Marshall, Grundy, Livingston, Lee and DeKalb counties is Dec. 29.

IVCC will be closed Dec. 19 through Jan. 3. To file an objection between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, email board secretary Judy Day at judy_day@ivcc.edu to arrange a time to file the objection.
