A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Route 59, just north of Route 126 in Plainfield, police said.
Sean Hall, 48, of Plainfield was killed Tuesday evening, according to the Plainfield police. Hall was taken to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The Will County Coroner’s Office had provided no information as of Wednesday morning.
About 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers and emergency crews with the Plainfield Fire Protection District responded to Route 59 just north of Route 126, police said.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they learned Chrysler Sebring had struck Hall, police said.
A preliminary investigation of the incident indicated that the Sebring was heading north on Route 59 when it hit Hall, who was in the road, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
