Jones Elementary received the 2017 IAHPERD Jump Rope for Heart School of the Year award. IAHPERD stands for Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. On Jan. 23, 2018, the school was presented a plaque by IAHPERD Council of Future Professionals Advisor Mary Kennedy. Jones Elementary in Minooka District 201 hosts Jump Rope for Heart each year in February. The school houses 630 students and have an average of 425 students who participate in the fundraiser. (Allison Selk)
