Mystery Diner's top 10 for 2018

Kiss My Dish Soul Food Kitchen opened in November in a space at 4542 Route 71 in Oswego.

The baked mac and cheese at the Kiss My Dish Soul Food Kitchen in Oswego was a real hit and came in what appeared to be a cast iron ramekin.

The fried chicken at Kiss My Dish Soul Food Kitchen in Oswego came with two sides. The Mystery Diner picked the mac and cheese and the red beans and rice, and chose wisely.

Ivana's Cafe opened at 12 W. Main St. in downtown Plano last November, after a fire in August damaged the building where the cafe was originally located on East Main Street. The cafe opened for business in that East Main Street location in the spring of 2017.

The dark chocolate English toffee sold at The Peach Ring in Oswego was pleasantly sweet and salty, without being so sticky that a filling could come loose.

The black-and-white checkerboard, along with the bright red chairs, reminds patrons of Brenda's Frozen Custard of eating at diners in the 1950s and 1960s, as classic rock music plays over the speakers.
