DIXON – The Light & Shadow Art Exhibit ends Dec, 12 at The Next Picture Show.
Light & Shadow features 72 original works of art by 28 artists using acrylic, acrylic and ink, alcohol ink, digital photography, traditional film photography, oil and watercolor.
The show was judged by Joe Popp of Oregon.
Winners are:
Best of Show, Graydon Cafarella of Dixon, for his watercolor “Winter Shadows;” first place to Scott Griffis of Rock Falls, for the digital photograph “City View from the Pier;” second place to Les Allen of Dixon for “Glass Jar with Shallots, Garlic & Amaryllis Leafs," a work in traditional film-based photography; and third place for “Immerse,” an oil on canvas by Kitto of Dixon.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Dale Tulk of Ashton, “The View,” an oil on canvas; and “Northwoods Creek,” a watercolor by Ellen Mumford of Dixon.
The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment at 113 W. First St.
