Services Saturday for Morrison teen who died in traffic crash

MORRISON – A drive-thru visitation is scheduled Saturday for the Morrison teen who died in a traffic crash earlier this week.

Natalie "Bug" Williams, 15, a sophomore at Morrison High School, died Monday after the car she was a passenger in was struck by a semi-truck.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was traveling eastbound on West Science Ridge Road around 3:20 p.m. Monday and approaching the intersection with state Route 40 when the boy failed to stop before crossing and was struck on the passenger side by a semi-truck, according to the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office.

The Morrison School District asked that community members keep Natalie and her family in their thoughts and that guidance counselors would be available to grieving students.

A drive-thru visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, at the intersection of High and Madison streets.

Memorials have been established to Morrison High School Game Club and Happy Tails.

Natalie was born May 20, 2005, in Clinton, Iowa, to Alex and Sabrina (Monroe) Williams. She was a dietary aide at Resthave Home in Morrison, a fan of True Crime TV series and a member of the Morrison High School Game Club, according to her obituary.

She enjoyed her art class, loved to doodle, paint, and do crafts. She participated in basketball, softball, and track while attending Morrison schools.

Survivors include her mother, Sabrina Stock of Morrison; father and stepmother, Alex (Missy) Williams of Morrison; two sisters, Ava Williams and Lexi Wilkens; and two brothers, Drew and Corbin Wilkens.
