DuPage County reports 152 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, 1 death

The DuPage County Health Department on Sunday reported 152 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with one death, a man in his 60s.

The county now has seen a total of 22,339 coronavirus cases including 606 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 6 was 96.0%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen seven days of positivity increases and eight days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate decreased slightly from 9.3% to 9.2%, still well above the state's threshold of 8%. Currently, 25% of medical/surgical beds are available and 37% of ICU beds.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,062 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 24 additional deaths Sunday.

By town, Wheaton has had 979 total cases, Glen Ellyn 771, Lombard 1,102, Villa Park 654, Hinsdale 407, Westmont 663, Darien 413, Downers Grove 945, Elmhurst 1,168, Warrenville 329 and Winfield 207. Addison has had 1,601 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,695, Carol Stream 1,214 and West Chicago 1,375.
