GENEVA – Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group has opened a new dermatology clinic in Geneva's Historic District that will provide cosmetic dermatology, as well as medical and surgical dermatology services.
Northwestern Medicine and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce welcomed the clinic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 8.
According to a news release, the practice will be the first at Northwestern Medicine to offer CoolSculpting, a non-surgical fat reduction technique that has grown in popularity.
The clinic is located in a remodeled former bank building at 25 N. 3rd St. in Geneva. The release states that the clinic has a spa-like feel and state-of-the-art laser technology.
Dermatologist Jill Cotseones, DO, will lead the practice. She is fellowship-trained in cosmetic and laser surgery from the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Northern California.
“We’re creating a beautiful oasis for people to come and feel great about themselves,” Cotseones stated in the release. “Non-invasive cosmetic procedures have taken off in the past 10 to 15 years, with new technology allowing people to rejuvenate aspects of their appearance.”
Available cosmetic services include CoolSculpting, laser treatments, injectables and HydraFacial. While a major focus will be innovative cosmetic dermatology, medical and surgical services also will be available, including treatment for skin cancer, the release stated.
Laser treatments can address a variety of dermatological concerns, including acne, sun damage, stretch marks, redness, rosacea and spider veins. Lasers also have medical uses, such as reducing scarring and treating skin cancer.
Cotseones, who is a breast cancer survivor, hopes that the clinic eventually will work with patients who have scarring from having undergone radiation.
The clinic will open to the public on Oct. 26. To schedule an appointment, call 630-315-6500.
