Photos: Line out the door for DeKalb County voters as early voting begins Thursday

SYCAMORE - Voting for the Nov. 3 General Election is now underway in DeKalb County, as voters showed up for early voting, which began in Illinois Thursday. A crowd had already formed and was lining up while social distancing outside Thursday morning before 8 a.m. at the DeKalb County Legislative Center, 200 N. Main Street in Sycamore, the county's only early voting location open until Oct. 19. Additional guidelines are being put in place for polling locations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and those waiting in line were asked to stand six feet apart and wear a face covering. Early voting in Illinois began Thursday, which includes those sent for anyone who requested a mail-in ballot. The Legislative Center is open for voting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and will open Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25, along with the weekend of Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Nov. 2, the polling place will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional locations across DeKalb County for early voting will open beginning Oct. 19, including the DeKalb Township Building, 2323 S. Fourth St. in DeKalb; Northern Illinois University's Holmes Student Center in the gallery lounge on the main floor; Kirkland Village Hall, 511 W. Main St., in Kirkland; and the Sandwich Fire Station, 310 E. Railroad St., Sandwich.
