Drive-thru COVID-19 testing site coming this weekend to Mendota

Mendota will host a temporary drive-thru COVID-19 testing site sponsored by the state of Illinois.

The site will be set up 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday Sept. 27, at the Mendota Civic Center, 1901 Tom Merwin Dr.

Some important details about the testing site:

— Simple nasal swabs will be used.

— You will be called with results within 4 to 7 days.

— No cost for testing.

— Bring your insurance card, but you can still be tested if you do not have insurance.

— Anyone can get tested. You do not have to have symptoms or be sick.
