The suspected overdose death of a 35-year-old Woodstock woman has led to charges against another Woodstock woman and a Chicago man arrested in the wake of a drug sting last week.
Jessica N. Decker died at an area hospital after Woodstock police and the Woodstock Fire and Rescue Department responded Thursday evening to a home in the 500 block of Calhoun Street for a suspected drug overdose, according to a Tuesday news release.
An investigation determined that Decker received the suspected narcotics from two people identified by police as Anier La’tasha Rose-Stoval, 22, of Woodstock, and DeShawn Troy Ingram, 23, of Chicago, according to the release.
Police found various amounts and types of suspected narcotics during a search of the Woodstock home police say the two share, although a Chicago address is listed for Ingram, according to the release.
They were both charged with unlawful possession of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine with intent to deliver, a Class 1 felony, and three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony.
Rose-Stoval was additionally charged with unlawful possession of less than a gram of codeine with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony.
The two had been arrested Friday after the Woodstock Police Department and McHenry County Sheriff's Office arranged a drug sale between Stovall and Ingram and an unnamed person, court records show.
The person, who is not named in the court records, claimed to have previously bought drugs from either Rose-Stovall or Ingram on about 20 separate occasions, including the night before the sting.
Rose-Stovall’s next court date on the most recent charges is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 8. Her bond was set at $55,000 and she would need to post $5,500 to be released.
Ingram’s next court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 11. His bond was set at $80,000 and he would need to post $8,000 to be released.
Both remained in the custody of the McHenry County jail as of Tuesday evening.
The investigation remains open and ongoing, according to a Woodstock Police Department news release.
