Romeoville plans for new Arby's, Wingstop along Weber Road

The village of Romeoville announced it received a concept plan for a three-tenant shopping center with plans for new chain restaurants to add to its growing list of projects.

The new shopping center is planned to be located near an access road to the Walmart near the intersection of Weber Road and Airport Road, according to a news release.

The plans for the center include a new Arby's restaurant which will be the anchor and feature a drive-thru. A Wingstop restaurant will be the second tenant.

A tenant for the third spot, which could potentially be another restaurant, has yet to be announced, according to the release.

“Despite the national recession we continue to see new investment in Romeoville,” Romeoville Mayor John Noak said in the release. “This development will join several other recent projects on the Weber Road corridor including Advanced Care Medical, Popeyes, Jiffy Lube and the Seasons of Romeoville.”

The shopping center will be 5,269 square feet in size and will include between 31 and 36 parking spaces, according to the release.

The project will occupy one of the remaining outlots in the Romeoville Crossing Shopping Center, joining the Firestone and the Presence Healing Arts Pavilion.

Other projects slated for the Weber Road corridor include the purchase and redevelopment of the former Target building which is set to be taken over by the Will County Senior Services.

The village added in the release it anticipates more new development projects to be announced later this year.
