Grand jury indicts Aurora man in Aug. 11 robberies in Ottawa

An Aurora man was indicted Tuesday for a pair of Aug. 11 robberies on Ottawa’s north side.

A La Salle County grand jury convened and returned a two-count indictment against Steven Willet, 48, Aurora. He could face three to seven years in prison if convicted of robbery.

Willett will next appear Thursday for arraignment. He is being held in La Salle County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Also indicted Tuesday were: Joseph Patterson, 19, of Mendota (two counts of violating the sex offender registry); Wesley Thompson, 39, of Peru (aggravated battery); Justine Cornelison, 29, of Angola, N.Y. (unlawful delivery of a controlled substance); Selena Motozapo, 19, of Ottawa (unlawful possession of a controlled substance); Jose Franco, 34, of Streator (unlawful possession of a controlled substance); Dustin Childers, 34, of Streator (unlawful possession of methamphetamine); Luisa Herrera, 25, of Streator (residential burglary); Joseph Ahlert, 30, of Plano (aggravated battery); Virgil Rivera, 24, of Ottawa (unlawful use of a credit card); Stephen Kmetz, 29, of Streator (criminal damage to government property); Jamie Christman, 24, of La Salle (retail theft); Kyler Hanson, 24, of Henry (retail theft); Thomas Damon, 25, of Minooka (retail theft); Guadalupe Lemus, 27, of Mendota (retail theft); Dylan Duffield, 24, homeless (aggravated battery); Joel Molina, 28, of La Salle (driving while revoked; aggravated DUI); Jacob Kostman, 33, of Ottawa (unlawful possession of a controlled substance); Daniel Miceli, 33, of Ottawa (unlawful possession of a controlled substance); Amy Lohr, 24, of El Paso (obstructing justice).
