La Salle County coronavirus update: Streator adds 12 cases, now has second-most after Mendota

499 cases remain active in county

Eighteen more positive COVID-19 cases were reported Saturday in La Salle County, as well as 18 recoveries.

New cases include: a male teen, a female teen, a male in his 20s, two females in their 20s, a male in his 30s, a male in his 40s, a female in her 40s, a male in his 50s, a female in her 50s, a male in his 60s, two females in their 60s, a male in his 70s, two females in their 70s, a male in his 80s, and a female in her 80s, according to the La Salle County Health Department.

There have been 39 COVID-19-related deaths, and a total of 549 recoveries out of a total of 1,087 positive cases, meaning there are currently 499 active cases.

Since Friday's report, the IDPH's ZIP code data has been updated as follows (these numbers sometimes lag behind the county health department daily reports)

• Mendota had one additional confirmed cases, increasing its running total to 227.

• Ottawa had four additional cases, increasing its total to 187.

• Peru had three additional cases, increasing its total to 67.

• La Salle had one additional cases, raising its total to 97.

• Streator's ZIP code, which also is partially in Livingston County, had 12 new cases, bringing its total to 191.

• Oglesby had one additional cases, raising its total to 40.

• Utica remained at 15.

• Grand Ridge remained at 17.

• Marseilles had one additional case, raising its total to 81.

• Somonauk, which also is in DeKalb County, remained at 30.

• Tonica remained at six.

• Sheridan remained at 40.

• Earlville had two additional cases, raising its total to 21.

• Wenona, which is mostly in Marshall County, had one additional case, raising its total to 11.

• Lostant remained at eight cases.

• Seneca remained at 16.

• Leland remained at 11.

Drive-thru COVID-19 testing is available 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays at the La Salle County Emergency Management Agency at 711 E. Etna Road, Ottawa. This testing site is open to all, regardless of symptoms. Individuals are required to schedule an appointment by calling 815-433-3366 before arriving on site.
