Batavia celebrates opening of Ruby Jane with ribbon cutting ceremony

Children's boutique located on Wilson Street

BATAVIA – The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Ruby Jane with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 14.

The children's boutique is located at 10 E. Wilson St., and carries clothing and accessories in sizes from newborn through 5T.

According to a news release from the chamber, Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration. Among the attendees were owner Patricia Anderson, along with her husband Matt Borgman and the couple’s three children, Lucy, John, and Kate.

Margaret Perreault, president and CEO of Batavia Chamber; Shirley Mott, the communications and membership coordinator for Batavia Chamber; Laura Newman, city administrator of Batavia; and Beth Walker, assistant executive director of Batavia MainStreet joined chamber ambassadors and community for the ceremony.

According to the release, Ruby Jane is owner Patricia Anderson’s dream come true. Her career behind the camera as a newborn baby and family photographer halted abruptly last spring due to COVID-19 restrictions. She quickly turned her Tricia Anderson Photography space into a children’s clothing boutique. Currently, the store is open Thursday – Sunday, but is also open for private shopping appointments.
