La Salle County coronavirus update: 47 new cases, 429 active cases

Streator, Ottawa and Mendota see greatest uptick in Saturday's update

The La Salle County Health Department reported 47 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Saturday, with 429 active cases.

The total number of cases is 743, with 13 newly-recovered cases reported and total recovered cases at 290. There have been 24 COVID-19-related deaths.

Confirmed cases increased in at least nine La Salle County cities, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. The IDPH only reports case numbers in cities with six or more confirmed cases.

The health department also noted that during case investigation it was determined that a previous case reported as a La Salle County resident was found to reside outside the jurisdiction and has since been transferred to the appropriate county. The total confirmed case count has been adjusted to account for case transfer.

Saturday's confirmed cases include:

Four females under the age of 13

Four teenage females

Seven females in their 20s

Two males in their 30s

Three females in their 30s

Two males in their 40s

Three females in their 40s

Two males in their 50s

Four females in their 50s

A male in his 60s

A female in her 60s

A male in his 70s

Four females in their 70s

Two males in their 80s

Two females in their 80s

A female in her 100s

Since Friday's report, the Illinois Department of Public Health's ZIP code data has been updated as follows (these numbers may be reported with a lag):

• La Salle had two more confirmed cases, increasing its total to 56 cases.

• Ottawa had 19 more confirmed cases, increasing to 106 cases.

• Mendota had eight more confirmed cases, increasing to 163 cases.

• Peru had one less case, decreasing to 46 cases.

• Streator had 20 more confirmed cases, increasing to 105 cases.

• Oglesby had two more confirmed cases, increasing to 32 cases.

• Somonauk had three more confirmed cases, increasing to 25 cases.

• Marseilles had two more confirmed cases, increasing to 58 cases.

• Sheridan remains at 33 cases.

• Earlville remains at 18 cases.

• Seneca had an additional confirmed case, increasing to 15 cases.

• Grand Ridge had an additional case, increasing to 14 cases.

• Leland remains at 10 cases.

• Utica remains at six cases.

No other ZIP code areas within La Salle County have reported six or more confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
