One of the most amazing things about the Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles is the Kavanagh Gallery, announced the center in a news release. "Living in Color," the current show, boasts an array of gorgeous and eclectic pieces by 30 artists.
Built 20 years ago, the gallery normally hosts between five and seven shows each year, highlighting both local and out-of-state artists' work.
“There were concerns that this gallery show would not go ahead,” said Carol Kazwick, who chairs the Kavanagh gallery committee. “We had moved one show to 2021 at the beginning of the lock-down. We were pleasantly surprised at both the number of applications and how many came from out-of-state artists.”
This show's premise is simple – color, and there is a wealth of color on display. Items include vibrant rainbow vases, a funky teapot in muted tones and an incredible nod to female icons of the 1960s, with hand-painted/bead-embroidered portraits of three female figures.
"There is a gorgeous selection of art on display, all of which is for sale," the release stated. "If you are looking for a piece of art for your home or home office, why not stop by the Kavanagh Gallery?"
This exhibition, which is free to view, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Aug. 13. All visitors are requested to wear face masks when at the Fine Line Creative Arts Center.
The center is at 37W570 Bolcum Road. For more information, call 630-584-9443 or visit www.fineline.org.
