Future Food N Fuel with Dunkin' planned for far West Side of Joliet

Another Dunkin' doughnut and coffee shop is planned for Joliet.

The City Council on Tuesday will consider a drive-thru for a future Dunkin' at Theodore Street and Drauden Road after approving one two weeks ago at Six Corners.

The next new Dunkin' would be part of a Food N Fuel station planned for the vacant northwest corner at 5951 Theodore St.

The Joliet City Council Public Service Committee gave a green light Monday to the Dunkin' plan on Theodore St. It goes to the City Council for final approval on Tuesday.

The Food N Fuel station is being developed by Len McEnery, Public Works Director James Trizna told the committee.

McEnery has two Food N Fuels in Joliet now. One is at Route 53 and Laraway Road. The other is in the middle of the CenterPoint Intermodal Center at 2951 CenterPoint Way.

Theodore and Drauden is a T-intersection with a three-way stop.

Trizna said plans are underway to install traffic signals at the intersection in the future, and the Food N Fuel station will help pay for the traffic signals.

Theodore has a traffic volume of 13,500 vehicles a day, Trizna said. Drauden has a volume of 6,600 vehicles a day.

There are three driveways planned for the Food N Fuel, including full-access driveways on both Theodore and Drauden.

The Dunkin' at Six Corners also is taking a vacant lot at the otherwise developed intersection at which three major streets cross. It will be at the corner of Raynor Avenue and Ruby Street.
