D. 202 to extend free 'grab and go' meals through Aug. 26 at Plainfield locations

District 202 will continue to provide free meal services for any child 18 years and younger through Aug. 26

This extension will allow students to continue to get food until school resumes remote learning on Aug. 31.

District 202 and Aramark, the district’s contracted food service company, began offering free meals when school buildings were closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The district has served 234,415 meals since March 17.

Families can pick up five complete breakfasts and five complete lunches between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesdays through Aug. 26

The meals will be grab and go and meet USDA guidelines.

Staff will ensure proper social distancing is used to keep families safe.

Children younger than 18 do not have to be currently enrolled in District 202 to receive meals.

Families can pick up meals at their home high school or at whichever high school is most convenient.
