JACKpots announces expansion that will 'get people out more' in downtown Streator

Three-seasons addition, expanded kitchen among renovation plans

JACKpots in Streator is getting a three-seasons addition and an expanded kitchen in the coming months.

Owner Chad Lucas said the outdoor space will have a full-service bar, televisions, fire pit, coffee tables, glass garage doors and fans and heaters to allow for all-weather seating.

“I’m from Streator, born and raised here, and I love it here,” Lucas said. “This is going to benefit the community and get people out more in downtown.”

JACKpots, 110 E. Hickory St., opened a few years ago as primarily a gaming parlor and lounge offering drinks, but it has grown into more, especially with the addition of Dixies Pizza within its building and outdoor concerts on its grounds.

Lucas said the idea for a three-seasons area is unique to the region; it’s something he’s more used to seeing in the suburbs.

“The mindset we need to get into is having a perfect flow between the outside and the inside,” Lucas said.

Lucas said Dixies Pizza will be relocating to a location that will be announced at a later date.

JACKpots, however, will have its own 600-square-foot kitchen space with its own menu.

Lucas has set a Nov. 1 target date for the completion of the project.
