Five IVCC student-athletes named First Team NJCAA All-Academic

Earlville, Streator, L-P, Fieldcrest, home school graduates on First Team

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognized its 2019-20 NJCAA All-Academic student-athletes for achieving a GPA above 3.6 this past school year while competing in sports.

Five Times- and NewsTribune-area Illinois Valley Community College student-athletes earned prestigious First Team status for having a perfect 4.0 grade-point average this past school year.

Here are IVCC's honorees:

First Team — Clay Wells (men's golf, Fieldcrest), Ryan Skoog (baseball, La Salle-Peru), Isabel Lueck (women's tennis, home school/Oglesby), Justin Ainsley (men's tennis, Streator) and Emily Cook (women's basketball and softball, Earlville).

Second Team — Hannah Weeks (volleyball, LaMoille), Madison Solomon (volleyball, Putnam County), Nena Perry (women's tennis, L-P), Alec Nawa (men's tennis, St. Bede), Shea Moritz (softball, home school/Woodland), Jorge Leon (men's soccer, Ottawa), Olivia Holmes (softball, Putnam County), Grace Filipiak (women's tennis, L-P), Erik Enriquez (men's soccer, Hall) and Gabby Englehaupt (women's basketball, Hall).

Third Team — Michelle Windy (women's tennis, L-P), John Senica (men's basketball, L-P), Aubrie Roda (women's basketball and softball, L-P), Austin Phillips (men's tennis, Bureau County), Anulika Ochuba (women's basketball, St. Bede), Ashly Mauk (volleyball, Ottawa), Mikayla Ferguson (women's soccer, L-P), Gena Fassino (softball, L-P) and Devin Cook (men's golf, St. Bede).
