During the summer months, millions of low-income children lose access to good nutrition through the school breakfasts, lunches, after-school snacks and meals they receive during the regular school year.
The Summer Meals Program helps by providing free meals and snacks to children who might otherwise go hungry.
The state program is sponsored locally by the Voluntary Action Center of DeKalb County.
Volunteers can now sign up to help at the Summer Meals distributions through SignUpGenius. They can choose the date or dates they want to help out.
