The City of Yorkville's annual public Memorial Day ceremony held in Town Square Park off Bridge Street (Route 47) will not be held next Monday, May 25 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city announced Wednesday, May 20.

Instead, Yorkville American Legion Post #89 will be hosting a private ceremony honoring those who gave their lives in service of our country that can be viewed live on Monday at 10 a.m. on the Yorkville American Legion Facebook Page at (https://www.facebook.com/Yorkville-American-Legion-265552440134899/).

The public is also invited to participate in the Memorial Day Contactless BBQ Pop-Up on Monday with all proceeds benefiting the Yorkville Legion. For $10/Plate you will receive: BBQ pork sandwich; two full BBQ wings; smoked mac-n-cheese and coleslaw.
