Sandwich Library offers virtual programs in May

The Sandwich Public Library District will offer the following programs in May. All programs are free and open to the public, with registration required unless otherwise noted. Visit or call 815-786-8308 to learn more.

At-Home Story Time: Every Tuesday, an at-home story time outline is sent out for children to do with their family. To join in on the fun, text @spldstory to 81010.

Teen Watch Party: At 6 p.m. Thursdays, teens will watch a movie or anime or even play a game together. Text @spldteen to 81010 to receive instructions and the invite link. For ages 12 to 18 only. Youth younger than 13 will need to be signed up by a parent.

First Chapter Club: 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays on Facebook Live. A staff member will read the first chapter of a book aloud and those who are interested can continue the story through online reading resources. Books for all ages will be featured.

Virtual Book Share: 1 p.m. Mondays on Zoom. A virtual book share will be posted on Facebook. Share the books you’ve been reading and get some new recommendations during quarantine.

Vocab Club: Meets at 1:30 p.m. Fridays online via Zoom. Do you love words? They do, too. Bring your new favorite word to share, and via group dialog they will explore its etymology.
