Oberweis Dairy to host "Giving Tuesday" fundraising event at all locations

20% of fountain sales to be donated to local nonprofits

All Oberweis Dairy locations will once again host "Giving Tuesday" on April 14.

According to a news release, 20% of all fountain sales will be donated to food pantries in Illinois, Missouri and Michigan. This is the second time the company is hosting the event.

“The fundraiser we had earlier this week was a huge success and so we decided to do it again,” stated Joe Oberweis, president and CEO of Oberweis Dairy, in the news release. “The weather is starting to warm up and we encourage our loyal customers to come out and help us make the upcoming fundraiser on Tuesday even more successful.”

Oberweis Dairy is sending Hesed House in Aurora a check for $23,983.77, which represents 20% of last Tuesday’s fountain sales plus $10,000 from Oberweis family members.

Next week, Oberweis Dairy is pledging 20 percent of the fountain sales to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva; St. Trinity Lutheran Food Pantry in St. Louis; and Open Hand Food Pantry in Royal Oaks, Mich.

“We have stores in the St. Louis region and in Michigan and so we wanted to expand our charitable efforts to help charities in those locations,” Oberweis stated. “Food pantries are being inundated with requests as a result of so many people being laid off work during this crisis. Helping these community-focused organizations just makes sense.”
