Oswego Township brush pickup service starts April 20

The Oswego Township Road District will offer monthly brush pickup on the weeks of April 20, May 26, June 22, July 27, Aug. 24, Sept. 21 and Oct. 26.

This service is offered to provide residents of unincorporated Oswego Township, including Boulder Hill and Shore Heights subdivisions, with removal of branches trimmed from trees on their property. The department disposes of branches using a chipper machine and these guidelines must be followed:

Brush must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the Monday of pickup week.

Limbs need to be less than five inches in diameter and longer than two feet. It is best if the length is longer; do not cut into small pieces.

Place the cut ends toward the street. Do not stack over three feet high. Pile sizes must be within 3 feet by 12 feet.

Remove all vehicles from in front of brush piles. Vehicles should be parked at least 20 feet away from the piles so crew can access them.

The township will not accept short or bagged clippings, root balls, whole trees and logs or incorrectly stacked piles.

If tying bundles, only twine may be used.

Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in brush not being picked up.
