Two women accused of driving to Chicago to buy Xanax they allegedly sold later in Wonder Lake remained at the McHenry County jail Monday evening.

Jessica Stoneburner, 29, and Hollie Sledge, 33, each were charged with delivery of a controlled substance after police were called Saturday to Mercy Harvard Hospital for a death investigation.

Through their investigation, police learned that Stoneburner and Sledge drove another man, Daniel Bane, to Chicago to buy drugs on Friday, according to a motion prosecutors filed in court Monday.

Stoneburner is accused of buying the Xanax in Chicago and giving a portion of to Sledge to sell in Wonder Lake, according to the prosecutors' motion. Some time after the stop in Wonder Lake, the women "realized that Bane needed assistance" and drove him to the hospital in Harvard, where he died of a suspected drug overdose, prosecutors wrote.

The situation remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department.

Sledge, of Wonder Lake, and Stoneburner, of Harvard, would need to post bail in the amount of $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, to secure their individual releases.

Stoneburner is due back in court on May 28. Sledge is expected to make her next court appearance Tuesday.
