Sugar Grove Public Library closed to the public

SUGAR GROVE – The Sugar Grove Public Library is closed to the public until at least March 27, and cancelled all public programs, meetings and events through March 31 in response to the recent public health recommendations, according to a news release from the library. The drive-up window will remain open to obtain books and materials.

The closure comes after consultation and information evaluation from the village of Sugar Grove, Kane County resources, Center for Disease Control and the declaration of a global pandemic from the World Health Organization. The Sugar Grove Library continues to follow responses from other libraries across the state and information is being posted on the village of Sugar Grove website located at: https://www.sugargroveil.gov/coronavirus-information/.

The release states that library staff will continue to offer virtual and remote services so long as it is safe and possible to do so. The drive-up pick up window in the rear of the building may be used to pick up holds, and patrons may make requests for bundles of books and materials by filling out a “Binge Box” request which is a simple Google form, or call the reference desk. A “Little Free Bookcart” will be available in the foyer and vestibule where you may take books from our book donations. Reference questions will be answered by phone or e-mail as time allows.

For questions, concerns or more information, call the library at 630-466-4686 or e-mail Library Director Shannon Halikias at shannon@sgpl.org.
