Cops: Man fires gun outside Bolingbrook home

A Romeoville man was arrested in Bolingbrook after he allegedly left his home and fired one round from a gun, police said.

About 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers were sent to the 200 block of Woodlet Lane in response to a report of an intoxicated man armed with a handgun, said Bolingbrook police Lt. Anthony Columbus.

When the officers arrived, they saw Andrew Gluszek, 65, of the 200 block of Haller Avenue leave a home and walk towards the sidewalk, Columbus said.

The officers learned Gluszek was an acquaintance of a homeowner on Woodlet Lane and he matched the description of the armed suspect reported to the police, he said.

The officers searched Gluszek and found a .32-caliber handgun in his jacket pocket, Columbus said.

Columbus said the officers determined that Gluszek had left his home and fired one round about three hours before they found him.

Gluszek was booked into the Will County jail on charge of reckless conduct and a possession of a firearm without a firearm owner’s identification card, according to court records.

On Thursday, a judge set Gluszek’s bond at $15,000 and ordered him to have no contact with a woman or the home on Woodlet Lane.

Gluszek posted 10% of his bond and was released from jail at 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

On Jan. 22, Gluszek was indicted on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence. He allegedly drove a Porsche at 135th Street in Romeoville while intoxicated, the indictment said.

The charge is Gluszek's fourth DUI case, according to the indictment.
