State Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is touting her support from multiple Will County elected officials in the Democratic primary race for county executive.
She and Nick Palmer, the chief of staff to Will County Executive Larry Walsh, are vying for the party's nomination.
Since announcing her candidacy, Bertino-Tarrant said, she's received endorsements from Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil, Sheriff Mike Kelley, Will County Board members Tyler Marcum, Ken Harris and Majority Leader Mark Ferry, State Sens. Pat McGuire and Michael Hastings and State Reps. John Connor and Natalie Manley, according to a news release.
"Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is a proven leader,” McGuire said in the release. “She will continue her efforts to ensure our children receive an excellent education, families have access to good-paying jobs and our seniors will have the resources available to lead independent lives."
She's also secured endorsements from 19 labor union organizations in Will County which she argued showed her "strong record of being an ally and friend to working families."
Bertino-Tarrant also highlighted her lead in a poll conducted by ALG Research showing her leading Palmer 33% to 17% among likely voters, according to a memo.
The release also said 44% of Will County voters gave her a positive job rating and 14% gave her a negative rating.
Last October, Bertino-Tarrant's campaign also released the results of a poll showing her with a lead of 29% to 9% among Democratic primary voters over Palmer.
