Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle reports the following activity

After an investigation it was determined that a 2018 Hyundai Elantra being driven by Benhoff was northbound when he drove off the roadway.

The Hyundai struck a tree and rolled onto the passenger’s side. Benhoff was extricated from the vehicle by Byron Fire Personnel and transported to Swedish American Hospital where he was issued citations and given an I-Bond.

Benhoff is due to appear in Ogle County Court at a later date.

Jan. 4

Christine Starkweather, 55, of Hanover, was arrested for no valid driver’s license at Illinois 64 and Illinois 26. Starkweather was then transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

Tony Coleman, 22, of Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended and on an outstanding Whiteside County failure to appear warrant on Interstate 88 near Rochelle after being stopped for speeding. A passenger in the vehicle, Ronald Bryant, 22, of Chicago was arrested for an outstanding Whiteside County failure to appear warrant. Both Coleman and Bryant are being held at the Ogle County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

Jan. 5

James Watkins, 26, of Rockford, was arrested for driving while license suspended on Interstate 39 after being stopped for speeding. Watkins was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Thomas Lyons, 42, of Rockford was arrested for driving while license revoked on Interstate 39 after being stopped for speeding. Lyons was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Jan. 6

Cody Lorenzen, 28, of Dixon was arrested for driving while license suspended at approximately 8:43 a.m. after a traffic stop near the intersection of Town Line Road and Illinois 2. Lorenzen was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Marco Almonaci-Vera, 50, of Rockford was arrested for no valid driver’s license at 10:44 p.m. after a traffic stop on Interstate 39 at mile marker 108 north. Almonaci-Vera was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Alexandria Stover, 22, of Polo, and Brandon Hitchcock, 24, of Oregon, were arrested for improper container of cannabis at 10:24 p.m. after a traffic stop in the 11000 block of West Illinois 64 for a traffic violation. Stover and Hitchcock were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.
