A new doctor has joined the Mercyhealth staff at Mercyhealth Algonquin, 2401 Harnish Dr., Suite 101, in Algonquin.
Dr. Laeeq S. Shamsuddin, MD, joins the pulmonology staff, but he will continue to see patients at Mercyhealth Woodstock, 2000 Lake Ave., in Woodstock.
His special interests include: acute respiratory distress syndrome, APRV ventilation, obstructive sleep apneas and parasomnias.
Shamsuddin received his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine, Caribbean Netherlands, and served his residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, University of Illinois, Chicago. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with added certification in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. He also served a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at University of Vermont School of Medicine, Burlington.
