Karl R. Zimmerman

AMBOY – Karl R. Zimmerman, age 59, of Amboy, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, beside his wife at their home in Eldena, IL.

He was born Nov. 7, 1960 in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Marian Zimmerman. Karl was a welder for 42 years and was an avid carpenter. He retired from Security Builders in Oswego, IL in 2016. Karl loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, bonfires, working on cars, trains with his grandkids, and anything outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Karl is survived by his wife, Jeanne Zimmerman; his children, Beth (Don) Carroll of Kentucky, Dennis (Jeanette) Shepherd of Mendota, Chad (Amie) Zimmerman of Mendota, Stacia (Tommy) Massey of Sterling, Lucas (Emily) Zimmerman of Amboy, Heidi (Tim) Handel of Morrison. He had 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gail King of Lexington, TN. and brother, Brian Zimmerman of Wisconsin.

Karl requested his body be donated to science for medical study.

A Celebration of Life with be held in the near future.
