New doctor on staff at Mercyhealth Woodstock

A new doctor is on staff with Mercyhealth Woodstock, hospital officials said this week.

Dr. Farnaz Almas Ganj joins Mercyhealth Woodstock, 2000 Lake Ave., with special interests in a host of medical conditions and specialties. Her special interests include pregnancy supervision, general gynecologic conditions, pelvic floor dysfunctions, pelvic organ prolapses, pelvic pain, urinary and fecal incontinences and dysfunctions, genital fistulas and pelvic floor reconstruction.

Ganj received her medical degree at the Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, and served her obstetrics and gynecology residencies at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and at Oklahoma University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ganj also completed a Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.

Ganj is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with added certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She also is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
