STERLING – Dorothy “Dottie” Marie Flynn, 55, of Sterling, died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Dottie was born on January 9, 1964 in Sterling, the daughter of John H. and Veneranda (Ribeiro) Duncan. She married Lawrence “Leroy” Flynn in September of 2009 in Sterling. She worked at numerous local restaurants as a waitress for many years. Dottie enjoyed reading, shopping and loved animals, especially her cat and two dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy of Sterling; her father, John of Rock Falls; four daughters, Angela Russell of Chadwick, Andrea (Timothy) Streenz of Prophetstown, Holly (Erik Halvorson) Baeza of Rock Falls and Kayla Baeza of Sterling; one son, Thomas (Kari Burgess) Baeza of Rock Falls; thirteen grandchildren, Dakota and Mallory Russell, Austin Baeza, Allison and Cheyanne Simmer, Jackson and Jordan Streenz, Collin, Maddy and Myles Halvorson and Lilly, Kaitlyn and Silas Baeza; one great-grandson, Luca Russell; one sister, Jessica Pimental of Sterling; one brother, Paul Duncan of Milledgeville; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 3 to 5 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
