MAPLE PARK — The Ottawa Lady Pirates edged the Kaneland Knights 3-2 in an Interstate Eight Conference girls tennis dual meet Tuesday afternoon.
Notching doubles victories for Ottawa — which moved to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in I-8 duals — were Regan O'Fallon and Ella Marvel at No. 1 (6-3, 6-0 over Sofia Gonzalez Magnobosca and Christel Lamera), Marta Johnson and Rebekah Felty at No. 2 (6-2, 4-6, 6-1 over Ally Mitchinson and Sarah Nguyen), and Mally Charbonneau and Emily Walker at No. 3 (7-6, 7, 6-3 over Maddy Rizzuto and Leanne Steenwyk).
Volleyball
Midland def. Woodland 25-21, 25-21
At rural Streator, the Warriors were defeated in two sets by the Timberwolves in a Tri-County Conference match.
For Woodland, Audrey Jenkins had five kills, Morgan Schwahn 14 assists, Mikayla Connor five blocks and Kaitlyn Walter a whopping 20 digs.
Roanoke-Benson def. Marquette 15-25, 25-20, 25-15
At Roanoke, the visiting Lady Crusaders won the opening set but suffered the Tri-County Conference road defeat.
Somonauk def. LaMoille-Ohio 19-25, 25-23, 25-16
At Somonauk, the Lady Bobcats (5-9-2, 4-3) defeated the Lady Lions in three sets in a Little Ten Conference contest.
Katelynn Tripp pounded out seven kills and served up a trio of aces to lead the Somonauk attack. Aubrey Westbrook came up with eight digs to pace the defense.
Flanagan-Cornell def. Dwight 23-25, 25-15, 25-15
At Flanagan, the Lady Falcons (15-9-1) defeated the Lady Trojans in three sets in a nonconference matchup.
Kayla Van Weelden pounded out nine kills and served up six aces to lead the F-C attack. Kortney Harms tallied 11 assists. Regan Reed came up with eight digs to pace the defense.
Indian Creek def. Leland 25-17, 25-11
At Shabbona, the visiting Lady Panthers were defeated in straight sets.
Girls golf
Lady Indians claim I-8 title; OHS's Dugan 5th
The Sandwich Lady Indians shot a season-low score of 378 to win the Interstate Eight Conference Meet at the Rochelle Country Club. The Ottawa Lady Pirates were fifth in the five-school event with a 443. Plano (399) was runner-up, Kaneland (406) third and La Salle-Peru (435) fourth.
The Sandwich quartet of Alijah Campbell (sixth individually, 89), Josie Gonzalez (seventh, 91), Jilliam Fuchs (10th, 96) and Morgan Ross (13th, 102) all were all-conference.
Ottawa's Hannah Dugan (fifth, 87) and Abi Claus (15th, 105) were both all-conference.
Rochelle's Megan Thiea Vong carded a 76 to win the individual championship.
Boys soccer
Manteno 1, Streator 0
At Manteno, the Bulldogs (14-3-1, 3-2) were edged by the Panthers (14-4, 6-0) in an Illinois Central Eight Conference contest.
Max Baker had 13 saves in net for Streator.
Earlville 8, Stillman Valley 1
At Stillman Valley, the Red Raiders beat the Cardinals in a nonconference match.
Manny Gomez, Jeremy Gomez and Landon Larkin all netted a pair of goals to lead Earlville. Devyn Kennedy and Garrett Cook each added a goal. Kennedy (three), Manny Gomez (two), Diego Vazquez and Jake Pickert all notched assists.
Rochelle 7, Sandwich 0
The Indians (9-10-4) were blanked by the Hubs in the opening round of the Interstate Eight Conference Tournament.
Sead Sejdiu had eight saves in net for Sandwich.
Girls swimming
Morrison 118, L-P Co-op 47
At Morrison, the La Salle-Peru Co-op was beaten by the Fillies in a dual meet.
L-P's lone winner was Peyton Heagy, who was first in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.

IVCC 2, Kishwaukee 0
Mikayla Ferguson and Sabrina Poole each scored a goal for the Lady Eagles during their win over Kishwaukee College. Mia Preciado made nine saves in net.
JUCO volleyball
Sauk Valley def. IVCC 25-19, 25-14, 25-11
At Dixon, the Lady Eagles were swept by Sauk Valley Community College in an Arrowhead Conference match.
For IVCC, Kaitlyn Edgcomb had 10 kills, Kate Vigars 12 assists and Gertie Savitch 16 digs.

At Maple Park, the Lady Corsairs (8-1, 4-1) beat Kaneland in an I-8 dual meet.
Posting a singles win for Ottawa was Kyleigh Olszewski at No. 1 (6-2, 6-4 over Anelle Dominguez). Notching doubles victories were Kyra Mitchell and Grace Satterfield at No. 1 (6-4, 6-2), Olivia Long and Cora Sisk at No. 2 (6-4, 5-7, 10-8), and Isabel Heimsoth and Madison Lineback at No. 3 (7-5, 6-0).
Exhibition doubles winners were Emma Stumpf and Emma Walker, Emmy Taylor and Summer Blazys, and Paris Blankenship and Abby Morris.
Sophomore/JV volleyball

At Pops Dale Gymansium, the host Bulldog Spikers improved to 9-12 overall (3-5 ICE). Mia Wyatt (nine digs, six service points), Anna Hoffmeyer (six digs, five kills) and Abby Bedecker (six assists, six digs, two aces) paced the Streator attack.
