Catherine "Tink" Connell, 84, of rural Streator passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Normal.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in Lostlands Cemetery, Streator. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Born January 2, 1935 in Chicago she was the daughter of Louis and Theresa Eileen (Sullivan) Regnier. She married Vincent Dennis Connell on January 23, 1960 at St. Mary's Church in Wenona. She is survived by her husband Vincent "Denny" Connell of rural Streator; daughters, Mary Ellen Connell of Wenona, Colleen Groble of Ottawa and Kathy Heider of Streator; sons, Dan (Erin) Connell of Tremont, Brian (Colleen) Connell of Ottawa and Kevin (Tracie) Connell of Streator; grandchildren, Patrick (Kelsey) Patterson, Melissa Patterson, Brianne Groble, Brian Heider, Chase, Kylie, Evan, Sean, Benjamin, Joe, Luke, Jared and Brandon Connell; great grandchildren, Olivia Williams and Willow Catherine Patterson; a sister, Ellen Richards of Chicago Heights and a sister in law, Helen Regnier of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Greg, Louis and Don Regnier; a sister and brother in law, Alice and Joe Williams; and a brother in law, Jim Richards. Born in Chicago, she moved to Wenona when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Wenona High School in the class of 1953. She worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in Chicago prior to meeting her husband Denny at a New Year's Eve party in 1958. Along with her husband, they raised their family and farmed the family ground in Eagle Township for many years. She was a long time member of Annunciation B.V.M. Eagle Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She also taught CCD for many years. She currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. Tink was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put her family first. She will be dearly missed by her loving family. Memorials may be directed to the American Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
