The Valley View School District 365U Board of Education has approved the selection of Alexandra Jonynas to the position of assistant principal at Jamie McGee Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

She previously had been teaching and learning Coach at McGee Elementary School, and succeeds Kristina Hollinger, who is now VVSD’s social and emotional learning coordinator.

Teaching career

Jonynas began her teaching career in 2011 as a kindergarten teacher at William Butler Elementary School in Homer School District 33C.

She joined the VVSD staff in 2012 when she was hired as a third-grade teacher at Oak View Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

The next year, Jonynas joined the teaching staff at Jonas Salk Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

In 2017, she was named teaching and learning coach at McGee Elementary.

Education

Jonynas attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education in 2011.

She earned a Master of Arts in educational leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2017.
