Argtim Shabani, 24, is opening his first restaurant, Triple Berry Cafe, located at 435 Angela Lane in Crystal Lake, at the end of the month.
Shabani currently runs his father’s restaurant, The Eagle Inn Family Restaurant in Janesville, Wisconsin. The Eagle Inn opened 18 years ago and Shabani has been running it for the past four years.
Shabani will be running both restaurants and will be the main chef at Triple Berry, he said.
The name Triple Berry Cafe was chosen to help advertise Shabani’s decision to use only fresh fruits for his food. He plans to only purchase high-quality foods to serve.
“People are going to think it’s high price, it’s expensive, but you gotta order it, you gotta see how much you’re gonna get on the plate, you gotta see what the portion looks like, and you gotta taste the quality,” Shabani said.
Shabani has been working in the kitchen with his father since he was about 14 years old, he said. He made the entire menu himself, with some recipes from his family and some he created on his own.
Menu items include three Triple Berry-flavored foods: crepes, French toast and salad. There is also Argi’s famous chicken tostada, avocado toast, bacon cheese-curd burger, corona cod sandwich and many other options.
“I just can’t wait, I just want to open the doors have people come in and try to meet new people here,” Shabani said. “It’s going to be exciting.”
The restaurant will be open daily, serving breakfast and lunch. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Shabani said.
