SYCAMORE – DeKalb County will begin 2021 with a new Circuit Clerk, after incumbent Maureen Josh (R) announced Monday that she will not run for reelection in 2020.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve as circuit clerk for the citizens of DeKalb County,” she said in a press release. “With the help of an amazing and dedicated staff, I have had the opportunity to serve in the finest Circuit Clerk’s Office in the State of Illinois. I am extremely grateful.”

Josh first was elected to the circuit clerk position in 1984. She was reelected most recently in 2016, when she ran unopposed. She has not faced a Democratic challenger since 2008.
