On Saturday, April 6, 2019, Tyler Richard Haar, Streator, and Sara Lydia Spaniol, Braceville, were united in marriage at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, Streator, during a 1:00 p.m. Nuptial Mass with Father Lee Brokaw officiating.
Parents of the bride are Diane and Phillip Spaniol, rural Streator with grandparents being Edward and Marcella (Hanusik) Leskanich, rural Ancona and the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Soltis) Spaniol.
The groom is the son of Julie Haar, Streator and Ed Haar, Kernan and grandson of Florence (Baumann) Gudmunson, Somonauk and the late Knute Gudmunson and the late Helen (Hiland) and Edmund Haar.
Matron of honor for her sister was Katie Bertsche with bridesmaids being Joanna Haar, Jenilee and Erin Spaniol and Whitney Axelson. Flower girls Elsie Bertsche, Isabella Axelson and Brynlee Spaniol preceded the bride down the aisle.
Best man was Brian Volkman with Luke Spaniol, Tanner, Jake, and Andy Haar as groomsmen. Ushering guests were Matt and Ben Spaniol, Troy Bertsche and Junior Ruiz. Page boys Mikey, Thomas and Charlie Axelson carried the bride’s train.
Leo and Logan Leskanich and Andrew and Seth Locascio were altar servers while the couples godparents, Connie Spaniol and Jeff Schultz; Rose Rubis and Gary Hiltabrand offered the gifts of wine, water and hosts for the Mass.
Michael Axelson, Sam Leskanich and Jonathan Haar read Scripture readings and Nora Locascio and Jennifer, Sophie and Abby Leskanich greeted guests. The wedding and reception host and hostess were Dave and Lorena Allen.
Dancing, after the banquet, commenced as the Ring of Fire Band and Orchestra entertained guests during the wedding celebration held at Streator’s Polish National Alliance Hall.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the PNA Hall on Friday.
The bride is a 2013 Woodland High School graduate and attended Illinois Central College. She is continuing her education through Colorado State University. Sara works with Climate Fieldview and Dekalb Asgrow Seed dealers.
Tyler graduated from Streator High School in 2012 and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He is a manager at Joe’s Stationhouse Pizzeria.
Mr. and Mrs. Haar honeymooned in Canmore, Alberta Canada. The couple resides in Braceville.
