GooRoos to kick off new Rockstock summer music series Saturday in Woodstock

Rockstock will take place the first Saturday of each month through August

A new summer music series is set to hit the Woodstock Square on Saturday.

The new Rockstock event will launch Saturday and continue to offer live rock and country music shows on one Saturday in July and August. The event is put on by Woodstock’s Chamber of Commerce, Real Woodstock and Big Bang Productions, according to the chamber.

The GooRoos will play the first Rockstock at 7 p.m. Saturday on the Square. Gates open at 6 p.m. Suburban Cowboys will perform at 7 p.m. July 6, and Who’s Who and Marrakesh Express will both play at the final Rockstock event of the summer on Aug. 10, according to the chamber.

The August concert will begin at
6 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m.

The event is free. Wine and beer will be available to purchase and food trucks will be on-site, according to the chamber.

Woodstock offers multiple live music events throughout the summer.

Woodstock City Band concerts and ice cream socials take place on Wednesdays in June and July in the Square. The band celebrates its 135th performing season in 2019, according to the city's website.

The annual Folk Festival will take place noon to 6 p.m. July 21 in the Square. The fest is in its 34th year.

Woodstock's two-day Jazz Festival is set to take place Aug. 24 and 25. Concerts will be held at both Stage Left Cafe and on the Square. The festival is celebrating its 11th year.

Live music traditionally is offered during the five-day Summer in the Park event as well. An official schedule has not yet been released.
